紅色薩拉邦 SCART SARABANDE
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Shannon Chieh has been the principal harpist with the National Symphony of Taiwan since 1999. Mr. Chieh is the founder and artistic director of Pink Moon Music Theater, where she produces multimedia music-theater work and concerts. Her projects include collaboration with flute master William Bennett and harp virtuoso Isabelle Perrin. She has also released four solo recordings under the Elite/BMG label and published poetry and travel books in Taiwan.
Scarlet Sarabande is the second production of Pink Moon Music Theater in 2003. The story is drawn from poems written by Chieh that tell of one woman's overpowering urge to leave the city she lives in to travel in search of new faces, new places and hopefully a new self. But as opposed to a narrative driving the story, the show hinges on the twin motifs of the color red and the letter S, which comes through in the multimedia element of the show and in the selection of composers played by Chieh on the harp, all of whom have names beginning with S.
The soundtrack publication includes Shannon’s poetry and traveling photography notebooks designed by Chia Min Wang in 2007. The design is to associate with the motifs “RED” and “S” also interprets into graphic as instrument strings, music staffs, the moment of journey, and emotions. Chia Min also designed the logo for Pink Moon Music Theater.
